Honda Model Information - S800
The Honda S800 can be seen as the predecessor of the S2000. The S800 came on the market in 1966 as a coupe and roadster model. The production of this sports car stopped in 1970. Only 30 years later, Honda released the next S roadster, the Honda S2000.
The Honda S800 was Honda's first car to hit 100mph (160 km/h). In 1967 the S800 was described as the fastest car in the world with a 1 liter engine. This was mainly due to the high revs that the engine could run, up to 10,000 rpm. Honda took this technique from their experience in producing motorcycles.
