NTK is the specialist in the field of lambda probes. All types can be found in the range. In the AKR Performance webshop you will only find NTK lambda sensors that are suitable for Honda’s.
What does an NTK lambda probe do?
A lambda probe is a sensor that is mounted in the exhaust. On most Hondas this is mounted in the exhaust manifold or in or near the catalytic converter. Your Honda may be equipped with één 4 wire lambda probe or two 1 wire lambda probe. Most importantly, the sensor(s) can measure the gases from all cylinders. There are manifolds where only 1 or 2 tubes are measured, that is not enough. In such a case, move the NTK lambda probe to a more suitable location.
The sensor measures the amount of oxygen in the exhaust gases and passes this on to the ECU, the engine management system. This value gives an indication of the effectiveness of the combustion.
When tuning in it is important to keep a close eye on this value. A mixture that is too lean can damage your Honda engine. With an air/fuel meter you can keep an eye on the mixture. This meter receives the values ??via the ECU. If you want more specific data, a wideband lambda probe a better idea. On this meter you can immediately see the data that the lambda probe is measuring at that moment.
